Description
We are now releasing new base robot variants of MiR250, MiR250 ESD, MiR600, and MiR1350 as part of our transition to partly completed machinery (PCM) for base robots. The new variants are called MiR250 Base Robot, MiR250 ESD Base Robot, MiR600 Base Robot, and MiR1350 Base Robot and will replace the current MiR250, MiR250 ESD, MiR600, and MiR1350. We are out-phasing MiR250 Dynamic and MiR250 Dynamic ESD as separate variants, as these are identical to the current standard MiR250 and MiR250 ESD variants, except for the documentation package. MiR250 and MiR250 ESD variants will be replaced by the MiR250 Base Robot and MiR250 ESD Base Robot.
The transition to partly completed machinery will not introduce any hardware or software changes to the base robots or their default configurations. However, the documentation package will be altered to accommodate the shift in focus from the end user to the integrator. This means that the new partly completed machinery base robots are shipped with a Declaration of Incorporation (DoI) and an integrator manual, instead of a Declaration of Conformity and a user guide.
It is important to note that the transition to partly completed machinery does not mean a change to the responsibility of the integrator.
You can rewatch our webinar on the transition from DoC to DoI for more information about the reasoning behind it. The webinar is available as a recording under News on MiR Support Portal https://supportportal.mobile-industrial-robots.com/news/presentation-from-the-webinar-transition-from-doc-to-doi/.
The four new variants have new order numbers and product names as described below.

MiR250 Shelf Carrier, MiR600 Pallet Lift, MiR600 EU Pallet Lift, MiR600 Shelf Lift, MiR1350 Pallet Lift, MiR1350 EU Pallet Lift, and MiR1350 Shelf Lift will all remain completed machinery with Declarations of Conformity and user guides.
Both completed and partly completed machinery will share the same hardware platform, and software upgrades will be released for both types simultaneously.
Online training sessions
We are hosting two online training sessions on roles, responsibilities, and activities involved with risk assessments and conformity audits of MiR applications.
Session 1: A review of the basic requirements of the Machinery Directive, partly completed machinery, and roles and responsibilities of both manufacturers and system integrators. We will present an overview of the overall conformity process and how MiR can help with compliance.

Session 2: A more in-depth walk-through of the conformity audits and risk assessments, mainly for those who are less familiar with these processes.
